It has been proven as an effective resource that benefits business by facilitating all aspects of the management of capability in corporate and educational environments. SFIA is a common framework which allows an international understanding of what an ICT role actually involves and identifies the skills required. SFIA has been adopted by many professional societies and organisations within Australia and around the world.

As an accredited training partner PSARN can deliver the “Introduction to SFIA” training through their authorised trainers. This partnership with the SFIA foundation provides a capability that enables organisations to fully understand SFIA.  As a Training Provider PSARN works to the SFIA code of practice which includes ensuring that courses are only delivered by SFIA Accredited Consultants. PSARN and Lumension partner to offer an Information Security Manual (ISM) Compliance Risk Management System

Canberra, AU, 5 September 2013. For agencies to ensure employees understand and meet cyber-security regulatory requirements and obligations. PSARN Security and Lumension® have joined forces to deliver the Lumension Risk Manager (LRM) Government Information Security Manual (ISM) compliance capability. The partnership provides an automated compliance capability that enables organisations to fully understand their security risks.
The Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) produces the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM). The manual is the standard which governs the security of Australian Government ICT systems. It complements the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Compliance, corporate reporting and auditing are now critical issue for ICT Security.
Regulatory compliance involves information flow and document management – from creating, monitoring, and tracking information to reporting to regulatory Agencies, such as DSD and the ANAO.
Agencies and their Ministers are at risk of losing public trust when security incidents occur and are looking to protect their organisations. Regular use of the LRM-ISM system is an automated compliance management system that makes a significant contribution to the protection of reputations. It ensures that security risks are identified and it lays the foundation for effective, efficient and prioritised actions to address security risks, thereby preventing security incidents.
Managing compliance with LRM-ISM provides for better risk management, decreased costs, increased disclosure and productivity, as well as a more effective way to ensure employee compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
The LRM-ISM system simplifies ISM compliance management and it integrates into systems such as ArcSite. Rather than the often reactive responses to cyber security incidents, LRM-ISM allows the organisation how to communicate possible risks to sensitive information and the potential impact of those risks to an Agency’s bottom line. “LRM-ISM ensures that the security risks associated with non-compliance are identified, understood and actioned. Using a LRM-ISM ultimately enhances the visibility of information security within an organisation, thus allowing for a more proactive protection of all assets and at a lower cost,” said Peter Lucey, CEO, at PSARN.
Features of the LRM-ISM system include:
• Aligns IT with Business Strategy Ensures that business strategy is always in alignment with IT resources including servers, applications, facilities and personnel.
• Understand Necessary Controls to Ensure Compliance Ensures that controls across people, process and technology are identified to support specific requirements that an organisation must address in order to be compliant and achieve greater security.
• Streamline Compliance Efforts Harmonises multiple internal and external compliance mandates into one framework to reduce the time, resources and costs needed to address multiple IT audits without duplication of controls.
• Controlled ISM Versioning Ensures users are always using the current versions of the ISM and understand the impact and differences between versions.
• Integration Integrates with Security Intelligence platforms such as ArcSite.
